We commit to noticing and caring for the spaces we visit, learning to give, learning to take only what we need. We also give back to local organizations with time and finances. These include local BIPOCDoulas, Our Community Reads, LakotaWayHealingCenter, and others.

We acknowledge we visit and tend the lands of Mississauga, Anishinabek , Bodwéwadmi, Wyandot, and Peoria Tribes

This land has been the ancestral territory and home to several Indigenous nations, who have stewarded it for countless generations.

We acknowledge that we are on the traditional and unceded land of those who were forcibly removed.

We acknowledge the wisdom and cultural richness of these Indigenous peoples that continue to enrich this land and its communities to this day. We recognize the enduring connection that these Indigenous Peoples have with this land, and we honor their ancestors: past, present, and future.

We express our gratitude and respect for their stewardship, resilience, and teachings, which have shaped and continue to shape this Land’s history and identity.

As we move forward, may we strive to recognize the historical and ongoing injustices faced by Indigenous peoples and work toward reconciliation, decolonization, and a future of mutual respect and collaboration.

At Azalea, we acknowledge that Colonialism is current and ongoing. We are committed to building our actions, continuing our education & embodying a mindfulness of how we presently participate in Colonialism today.
